What do you focus on daily?

Is your focus on the actions that will take you towards your goals? Or do you focus on the trivial?

By focusing on the important things, you leave the insignificant out of the picture. So what are the important things in your life?

Up and until you know what is important in your life you will let the trivial disrupt how productive your life really could be. So how do you focus on the areas of significance in your life and your business?

The key is to ask this question before you start any actions, "Will this lead to the achievement of what is important in my life?"

  1. Very Very good comments Tim. Sometimes during the day I end up with a list of things to do. All need to be done to "push" the whole project forward, but none are that important it itself. If all we focus on are the big ticket items, who does the smaller ones?

  2. Andy I know that the key word you typed out was ‘list’. There are a number of challenges to the list aspect of managing your life;
    • When we create a list the amount of items on the list has a tendency to overwhelm us and we become stressed.
    • With a list we have a tendency to start at the top and go down to the bottom, no matter what is more important or not. You need to prioritize your activities!
    • Roman wasn’t built in a day, so why do you think that because you made a list it needs to be done in one day.
    • So who does the smaller projects? The people that you’ve gained trust with. So that means that you need to start assigning little activities and see the results. Once these people start to prove themselves, compliment them. Then give them larger projects. Then compliment them again. You will be pleased at how much can be done by others if you trust, then follow it with a compliment.

    Keep the questions coming, as you are not alone in this and other business dilemmas.
    Tim
